Elections & Voting

Wawatam Township elections are held at the Township Hall, located at 123 W. Etherington Street, Mackinaw City, MI 49701 from 7am – 8 pm.


Voter Registration

Anyone who is 18 years of age may register to vote at the Secretary of State office or at the Clerks office at the Township Hall. We have provided the registration by mail form below for your convenience.

Absent Voter Ballots

Due to the passage of the statewide ballot proposal 18-3, all eligible and registered voters in Michigan may now request an absent voter ballot without providing a reason.

If you want to have a ballot mailed, make your request early to allow for delivery time. A voter eligible to vote by absent voter ballot may also vote in person at the clerk’s office anytime up to the day before the election. All absent voter ballots must be received by the clerk not later than 8 p.m. on election day. Please contact the Clerk at (231) 436-5274.
